I use a nikon Z9, which can take both XQD and CFexpress cards. The solution is to switch to one of the mentioned cards, or two separate readers, or in an emergency download directly from the camera. Wifi downloads are a pain, they take a long time. At all times, I recommend the most elastic cable and the smallest connector possible. Of course, with support for the fastest data flow.
I use magnetic connector reducers myself. It's not entirely comfortable, but I haven't had a usb c accident in a long time.
when it works, it's OK, it reads fast.
very fragile USB C port, repair is more expensive than a new reader, must be handled with "gloves".
Xqd are extremely fragile. When the olamou doesn't stick in the slot, I switch to CFexpress.
