Ulzrazoom digital cameras come under the category of compact cameras. They feature a large zoom (10x or more) for extreme close ups. As a result, these cameras can also be reffered to as ''ultra''.
Ultrazooms are designed for novice photographers, who are mainly interested in the resulting images. Compared with digital SLRs, ultrazooms are lower in weight and smaller in size. Their simple operation makes them particularly suited to beginners. The ergonomic camera body fits neartly in the hand, making them comfortable to hold. Ultrazoom compact cameras lack the ability to shoot video.
